Systems Engineer (Expert‑Level)Mission Intelligence Group is seeking a highly experienced Expert Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across complex GEOINT enterprise systems. This role supports mission‑critical capabilities spanning the National System of Geospatial‑Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial‑Intelligence (ASG), and Federal partners, ensuring delivery of resilient, scalable, and mission‑aligned solutions.Your RoleAs an Expert Systems Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical leader, guiding multi‑disciplinary engineering efforts across the full systems lifecycle. You will bridge mission needs and engineering execution, shaping enterprise architectures and driving innovation across complex intelligence systems.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide expert systems engineering leadership across large‑scale GEOINT mission environmentsTranslate mission and operational needs into technical requirements and system capabilitiesEvaluate and enhance system architectures, workflows, and cloud‑based servicesProvide technical recommendations on solution designs and emerging technologiesPerform requirements analysis, traceability, and allocation to architecture componentsSupport systems integration, verification, validation, and performance engineering activitiesLead and support:Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)Course of Action (COA) developmentTrade studiesEngineering assessmentsContribute to strategic planning, risk management, interface design, and program executionAlign mission vision, strategy, and technical capabilities across enterprise systemsCoordinate engineering activities across organizational and agency boundariesMentor and guide junior and senior systems engineering staffApply expertise across NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environmentsRequired QualificationsMaster 's degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline, including:EngineeringPhysicsMathematicsComputer ScienceInformation TechnologyOperations ResearchEngineering ManagementManagement Information Systems18+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements18+ years of experience supporting government or industry programs in:DoD / IC Acquisition ProcessesRequirements developmentPPBESLarge ‑scale System‑of‑Systems environmentsCloud‑based enterprise architecturesStrong understanding of the full systems engineering lifecycleActive TS/SCI clearance, with ability to obtain SCI and successfully pass a polygraphDesired QualificationsDoctorate in a related technical disciplineExperience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologiesSoftware Development Framework certificationINCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certificationProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseActive participation in professional organizations, such as:United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF)Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC)American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)Extensive experience in geospatial intelligence mission environmentsExperience designing solutions using:Cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)Big Data platformsAutomation and AI/ML technologiesExpertise in one or more of the following:PhotogrammetryRemote sensingImage scienceGeographic Information Systems (GIS)GeomaticsInformation scienceWhy Mission Intelligence GroupAt Mission Intelligence Group, engineers are trusted to focus on mission outcomes, not bureaucracy.
