RN - Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit

Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Position Purpose The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has 30 beds, with space to accommodate between 6-9 progressive care patients. The Registered Nurse will care for patients related to NSTEMI, post-STEMI/cardiac arrest, post-cardiac cath, acute coronary syndrome, AAA repair, atrial fibrillation, amputations, femoral‑popliteal bypass, diabetic ketoacidosis, and acute respiratory failure on BIPAP or AirVO. The unit offers a strong, welcoming teamwork environment with an emphasis on learning and growth. What you will do Provide nursing care, ensure an environment of patient safety, promote evidence‑based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibit professionalism within the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, using evidence‑based practice. Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual, and educational components. Accurately communicate pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner, and keep patients and families apprised/updated. Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines. Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from a school of nursing. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. For casual RNs, 2 years of experience is required. All new graduate nurses with less than 1 year of clinical experience will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.
