Safety Officer

What You’ll Do Monitor job site activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards Conduct safety inspections, audits, and job site evaluations Lead safety meetings and provide training to field employees Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation Identify risks and implement corrective actions Support field leadership in maintaining safe work environments Promote a culture of safety accountability across all teams Consistent enforcement of safety standards Proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks Clear communication with field teams and management Accountability for maintaining safe job site conditions What We’re Looking For Experience in construction safety, preferably in civil or underground utility work Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations Ability to communicate effectively with field teams and management Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to identify risks and implement practical safety solutions Experience working on active construction job sites Familiarity with trenching, excavation, and confined space safety Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to walk job sites and conduct field inspections Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed Schedule & Pay Full-Time | Salary Monday–Friday (project-based hours; flexibility required) Competitive pay based on experience Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off (holidays, vacation, sick) Paid training and certifications Referral bonus program Opportunities for advancement Work Location Field-based across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia Travel required We’re looking for a safety professional who can take ownership of job site safety and support a culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
