A respected healthcare facility in Potsdam, New York is seeking a Board Eligible Radiation Oncology Physician to provide short-term locum coverage for scheduled provider absences. This is a well-structured outpatient radiation oncology environment with strong clinical support and a stable patient flow.

Outpatient-based radiation oncology clinic within a well-established acute care hospital system serving a rural population.

Assignment Overview

This role provides coverage for an MD on vacation during multiple short blocks throughout the year.

Coverage Dates (3-day blocks)

• August 10 week (3-day stretch)
• September 28 week (3-day stretch)
• November 10–12 (preferred Tuesday–Thursday, flexible options available)

Clinical Responsibilities

The Radiation Oncology Physician will provide standard outpatient oncology coverage, including:

• Evaluation of adult oncology patients
• Radiation therapy planning and management
• Monitoring treatment response and toxicity
• Coordination with oncology care team
• Participation in routine clinical workflow
• Support of ongoing treatment schedules for established patients

Practice Environment

• Outpatient radiation oncology clinic
• Adult patient population only
• Average patient ratio: 10–15 patients per day
• EPIC EMR system
• Strong interdisciplinary support structure

On-Site Staff

• 1 Physician
• 1 Nurse Practitioner
• 1 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

⏰ Schedule

• Variable day shifts:
  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• No call responsibilities
• 30-minute required lunch break
• 3-day coverage blocks

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Radiation Oncology
• Active New York State medical license
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience
• AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
