Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to neonates in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role involves managing critically ill newborns, ensuring safety, and supporting their recovery and development.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor neonates' health status, documenting vital signs and clinical observations.
• Administer medications, respiratory support, and IV therapy following established protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment such as IMV and HFOV ventilators.
• Educate families regarding neonatal care, procedures, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and Pyxis systems, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold current California RN license and meet state requirements.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent NICU experience.
• Be comfortable caring for Level III neonates and managing complex respiratory support.
• Maintain BLS and NRP certifications; HFOV experience preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Prior travel experience and Epic system familiarity are a plus.
