Commercial Real Estate Attorney

A leading global law firm is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Attorney to join its highly regarded Chicago real estate practice.

The group advises owners, developers, private equity funds, institutional investors and financial institutions on sophisticated acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings and development matters.

A major draw is the ability to develop deep expertise within a particular asset class. Attorneys are encouraged to niche down, become true subject matter experts and take meaningful ownership of transactions and client relationships.

The firm is open to attorneys at multiple levels.

Responsibilities

• Handle acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and development matters
• Draft and negotiate substantive transaction documents
• Advise on real estate financings, including borrower-side matters
• Manage diligence, title, survey and closings
• Work directly with clients and take increasing ownership of deals

Qualifications

• Strong commercial real estate transactional experience
• Acquisitions and dispositions experience
• Real estate finance experience preferred
• Prior large law firm experience
• Strong drafting, analytical and client-facing skills

Prior experience within the group’s specific asset class is not required.

The practice also offers a genuine path to partnership. A portable book of business is not required to make partner.
