Position Summary The Senior Grants Manager (Sr. GM) will provide leadership and oversight for multiple grant‑funded projects that support the operations of a federally qualified healthcare clinic, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements. The Sr. GM is responsible for the administration and oversight of all post-award grant functions, including but not limited to budget management, team coordination, logistics, and reporting requirements. This position requires a high degree of personal initiative, strong communication and organizational skills, high work standards, and an active interest in providing excellent customer service. The Sr. GM must understand and interpret complex requirements, balancing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, and demonstrate the ability to prioritize essential tasks within short lead times. Under the guidance of the Grants & Contracts Director, the Sr. GM will work to ensure the successful financial reporting of grants and contracts, including account reconciliation, audits, and timely closeout, acting as a liaison between Clinical Teams, sponsoring agencies, and the internal office. This position will oversee a portfolio of mainly federal and state‑funded grants. Organizational Structure/Reporting Relationships This position reports directly to the Grants and Contracts Director and is a member of the Grants and Contracts team. Duties & Responsibilities Commitment to the organization's vision, mission, values, and Theory of Change at all levels. Lead advanced post-award administration for a complex portfolio of federal, state, and foundation grants and contracts, ensuring expenditures, payroll, and effort align with funder terms, organization policy, and program goals. Provide high-level financial oversight through forecasting, budget-to-actual analysis, burn-rate monitoring, carry-forward review, and recommendations that help project directors and leaders make sound fiscal decisions. Serve as a trusted advisor to organization leaders by reviewing award status, interpreting post-award requirements, resolving system issues, and guiding timely completion of reports and deliverables. Interpret and apply federal, state, funder, and organizational requirements with a strong emphasis on post-award compliance, internal controls, and consistent operational practices, recommending updates to existing policies and procedures as needed. Maximize clinical operations potential by understanding how different projects and funding sources interlink. Provide supporting documentation to the development team as requested for planned grant applications to help support proposals and continued funding. Provide support and mentorship to Grant Managers. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in social or health sciences. Master’s degree in public health, social or health sciences, public policy, business, or other related disciplines preferred. 5+ years experience in program coordination and supervision, or grants management. Experience working with American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/AN) populations strongly preferred. Familiarity with the unique healthcare needs and social issues facing AI/AN and the desire to promote the delivery of appropriate health services to this population. Experience managing HHS federal grants strongly preferred. Qualifications Strong Project Management, organizational, and coordination skills. Ability to set priorities and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities for reporting. Ability to assess situations and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the organization. Demonstrate excellent communication and networking skills, including public speaking, writing, group facilitation, and communicating cross-culturally with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues, clients/patients, and the community in all situations. Adept at working independently or in a team environment, whichever is considered appropriate for the situation. Knowledge of computer applications necessary to fulfill job duties. Work well under pressure, meet multiple and often competing deadlines. Ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as required. Show initiative and work with minimal supervision. Work Environment SIHB staff work four (4) ten (10) hour shifts per week on site.
