Position Overview Title: Construction Material Driver Reports to: Warehouse Logistics Supervisor We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Commercial Construction Materials Driver to transport building materials, equipment, and supplies to commercial construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure timely deliveries, maintain accurate records, inspect loads for safety and compliance, and provide excellent customer service while supporting project schedules and operational efficiency. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to: Safely operate DOT rated vehicles to deliver construction materials to commercial job sites. Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly. Verify delivery orders, invoices, and shipping documents for accuracy. Coordinate with warehouse personnel, project managers, and site supervisors to ensure on-time deliveries. Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts, cranes, or other equipment as required. Maintain delivery logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation. Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Communicate professionally with customers and job-site personnel. Keep vehicles clean and in good working condition. Work independently and as a team to assemble, load, and unload field orders. Receiving and stocking warehouse items, keeping accurate inventory records. Operate vehicles and machinery as needed (i.e. forklift, trailers). Provide support to the office as needed. Qualifications and Other Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of building construction (tools and construction materials) Experience operating commercial vehicles in a construction, building materials, or related environment Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance Strong knowledge of vehicle safety practices and load securement procedures Ability to back up a trailer Valid driver’s license and ability to meet DOT requirements Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening to obtain a DOT driver’s medical card Forklift certification (company will provide if needed) OSHA 30 certification (company will provide if needed) Essential Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to work in an environment which may include: fumes, odors, chemicals, sawdust and ash Ability to work in an environment with noises in the range of 30-85 db Ability to lift or push up to one hundred (100) pounds, or in excess thereof, with the use of proper equipment or assistance Ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds Ability to use hand tools safely Ability to use electric tools safely Ability to walk up and down steps, climb ladders, staging and scaffolding and on uneven ground Ability to bend, twist, reach, stretch and work in tight spaces Ability to drive a motor vehicle and large construction or box trucks We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibit discrimination of any kind.
