Position Overview:

As the Maintenance Director, you'll supervise the daily activities of the Maintenance Department in compliance with Federal, State, and local standards, ensuring our facility is safe and comfortable.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise daily maintenance functions and coordinate services with Nursing Services

- Assist in scheduling work assignments and preparing work schedules

- Perform administrative tasks, including completing forms, reports, and accident/incident documentation

- Implement recommendations from the Infection Control and Safety Committees

- Train and orient new maintenance personnel, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures

- Evaluate and provide feedback on the performance of assigned personnel

- Ensure safety and sanitation protocols are followed

- Maintain and recommend necessary equipment and supplies

 

Requirements:

- Minimum of a 10th-grade education (technical school graduate preferred)

- At least six months of experience in a maintenance department within a health-related facility

- Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly

- Strong decision-making skills and ability to accept constructive criticism

- Tactful and effective communication with personnel, residents, families, and the public

- Leadership skills and the ability to supervise non-professional personnel

- Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm

- Physical ability to move intermittently throughout the workday and handle equipment and supplies

 

Working Conditions:

- Work throughout the facility, including power rooms, resident rooms, therapy rooms, and dietary areas

- Subject to frequent interruptions and potential rescheduling of activities

- Exposure to various conditions, including dust, disinfectants, infectious waste, and adverse weather
