Senior Medical Billing Specialist

Compleat KiDZ / Kare Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Billing Specialist to join our growing team in Belmont, NC. About the Role The Senior Medical Billing Specialist will support the billing team by managing claims, follow-up, denials, appeals, and insurance reimbursement to ensure timely and accurate payment for services. Key Responsibilities Process NC Medicaid, Medicare Part A & B, and commercial insurance claims. Review claims for accuracy, appropriate coding, payer information, and required documentation. Perform insurance verification and eligibility checks. Manage claim follow-up, denials, reconsiderations, and appeals. Submit secondary and tertiary insurance claims as needed. Review aging and denial reports and take appropriate action on outstanding claims. Interpret EOBs and verify insurance payments for accuracy. Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and providers regarding billing inquiries. Ensure claims meet payer and regulatory requirements, including timely filing. Assist with resolving reimbursement issues and billing obstacles. Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality. Support process improvement and other billing-related projects as needed. Qualifications 3-5+ years of medical billing experience. Experience with NC Medicaid and NCTracks strongly preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding , CMS-1500, and UB-04. Experience with insurance claim appeals and denial management. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Associate degree or higher preferred. Experience with Clinicient is a major plus!
