The Lifeguard plays a crucial role in maintaining safety at a pool facility, working primarily on a solo basis during shifts. This year-round position requires vigilant water surveillance, immediate response to emergencies ranging from basic first aid to advanced rescue situations, and consistent enforcement of pool rules to ensure a secure environment for all patrons.
Responsibilities
- Conduct water surveillance to monitor swimmer safety
- Enforce safety rules and pool regulations
- Perform rescue operations during emergencies
- Administer first aid as needed
- Maintain lifeguard and pool rescue equipment
- Report incidents accurately and promptly
- Engage with the public to promote safety awareness
- Monitor the pool area continuously for potential hazards
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in lifeguarding
- Valid Lifeguard Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong swim proficiency
- Skills in emergency response and first aid
- Effective communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Problem-solving ability
- Teamwork capabilities
