Overview: HireNRHSResponsibilities: A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) provides specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Core duties include patient evaluation, custom splinting, and developing recovery plans.Evaluation/Assessment/TherapeuticsPerform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition and establish plan of careProvide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability of the patientDocument Delivery of Occupational Therapy servicesDirection/SupervisionDirects and supervises activities of Occupational Therapy Assistants, students and support personnelOrthotic/Splint FabricationDesign, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditionsEducate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautionsPost-Surgical and Injury RehabilitationTreat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditionsProvide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation as appropriateCollaboration and CommunicationCollaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionalsParticipate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussionsQualifications: EducationBachelor's degree requiredDoctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferredGraduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy programExperience3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapyLicensure/CertificationCurrent state PT or OT licenseCertified Hand Therapist (CHT) credentialCurrent CPR/BLS certificationPreferred QualificationsExperience in orthopedic and post-surgical rehabilitationKnowledge of work conditioning/work hardening programsExperience with custom orthotic fabricationLeadership, mentoring, or clinical education experienceKey CompetenciesAdvanced knowledge of upper-extremity anatomy and biomechanicsClinical reasoning and problem-solvingOrthotic design and fabrication skillsPatient-centered communicationTime management and documentation accuracyAbility to mentor staff and studentsCompensation/Benefits$36.63-$59.83/hr depending on previous work experience.Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, retirement plans, free parking, and opportunities for advancement.
