Controllers:The mission of Controllers is to ensure that the firm meets the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. As part of the firm's second line of defense, Controllers provides the critical analysis required while ensuring the internal and external financial information of the firm is accurate. Additionally, Controllers serves an important role in safeguarding the assets of the firm through the independent scrutiny of financial information. Controllers engages regularly with the firm's regulators and auditors and through its strong culture of control and challenge helps to protect the firm from reputational and other risks. Direct Hedge Funds, Hedge Funds Strategies and Private Equity Group are teams within Controllers that support the Asset & Wealth Management Division within the firm through an oversight over complex private funds.Responsibilities:Safeguard the assets and reputation of the firm by controlling and supporting the asset management division, as well as ensuring that they are in compliance with the firm's policies and with the rules/regulations that govern global financial marketsReview quarterly / monthly valuations and NAVs for private equity and hedge funds, review yearend financial statements and perform related activitiesSupport the fund launch and liquidation processesHandle corporate, regulatory and management reporting for fundsWork closely with other divisions, including: Business Teams, Product Services, Operations, IT and Trading DivisionsWork closely with fund administrators and auditorsQualifications:Related Experience: 4-7 yearsBachelor's Degree in AccountingMaster's Degree in Accounting preferredPrefer CA with experience in the alternative investments /private funds market and process management desiredBasic knowledge of financial statements preparation & review, USGAAP, IFRS knowledge and experience in coordinating with Big 4 accounting firms during audit cycle is desirable.Basic industry knowledge and strong accounting knowledge.
