Registered Nurse - Gastroenterology

Position Overview
United Health Services is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) Staff Nurse to join our Gastroenterology (GI) team at Binghamton General Hospital.

The GI RN Staff Nurse plays a critical role in protecting, promoting, and optimizing the health and abilities of our patients. This role is responsible for delivering direct nursing care within the Gastroenterology (GI) setting, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care, and monitoring patient status with timely response to changes in condition. The RN also provides education to patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and recovery, while ensuring accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Primary Department, Division, or Unit:
GI Lab, UHS Binghamton General Hospital

Primary Work Shift:
Multiple shifts available

Compensation Range:
$40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience

You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Schedule :

• Day-rotational
• 24 and 36 hours per week positions available
• Monday through Friday
• Participation in the on-call rotation is required. Staff must be able to respond and report to work within 30 minutes of being contacted while on call.
  

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Current NYS RN License

Preferred:

• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.
