This role will be based in our Minneapolis office, on an in-office basis. Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building.

Position Summary:

The Legal Support Specialist provides high-level practice and operational support to the Managing Shareholder and a team of attorneys. Serving as a trusted point of contact for internal and external clients, this role facilitates communication, coordinates priorities, and helps ensure matters move forward efficiently. The ideal candidate is highly organized, professional, and discreet, with strong judgment and professional presence. Strong communication skills are required. Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides high-level administrative and practice support to the Managing Shareholder and a team of attorneys
• Coordinates client engagement, intake, and conflicts processes in accordance with firm procedures
• Assists with court filings, including restructuring-related matters, and other practice support needs
• Communicates with clients regarding billing, collections, and business development support
• Serves as the primary contact for the Restructuring Practice Group, coordinating daily operations and communication among attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Manages calendars, schedules meetings and appointments, and coordinates email and telephone communications
• Arranges domestic and international travel, including itineraries, logistics, and related documentation
• Maintains client files, contact lists, matter information, and related records
• Prepares, edits, proofreads, and finalizes correspondence, documents, presentations, and other written materials
• Reviews, prioritizes, routes, and responds to correspondence and incoming communications, exercising judgment and discretion
• Coordinates matters with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal teams to support timely and responsive client service
• Coordinates with Paralegals and other legal support team members where applicable

Education & Prior Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
• Minimum of three years’ administrative support experience in a professional services, corporate, or legal environment
• Prior law firm experience supporting a practice group or senior attorney preferred, but not required
• Experience with court e-filing; bankruptcy court filing experience is preferred

Technology

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, document management systems, and billing and time-entry platforms
• Understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, and responsible use in a professional environment.

• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, firm-approved AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms) to support daily workflow and/or improve work quality.

​ Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move from workstation or desk throughout the work area to work independently or with a team to meet with colleagues or supervisor and retrieve work assignments.
• This position may also be sedentary and require the employee to sit for extended periods of time.
• Requires manual dexterity to use a phone, enter data into a computer, handle objects, and use office equipment.
• Some filing is required and this would entail the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.

The expected pay range for this position is:

$37.26 - $43.26 per hour

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
