Job Title: Assembler Job Description

The Assembler builds electronic products and subassemblies in accordance with engineering specifications and drawings, using a variety of soldering equipment, hand tools, and basic manufacturing tools. This role focuses on precise assembly, safe handling of materials and chemicals, and maintaining an organized work area while contributing to high-quality production in a manufacturing environment.

• Assemble products and electronic subassemblies according to engineering specifications, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Use soldering irons, solder pots, and hand tools to perform assembly and joining operations on electronic components and mechanical parts.
• Carry out tasks such as wire stripping, crimping, and sub-assembly and final assembly of electronic assemblies.
• Position and align parts in specified relationships using fixtures or other holding devices to ensure accurate fit and function.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, housings, and cans as required.
• Join and secure parts in place using methods such as crimping, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, press fitting, and similar operations.
• Mix epoxy and other chemicals safely and accurately for use in assembly processes.
• Use basic manufacturing equipment, tools, and gauges such as multimeters, torque gauges, and force gauges to verify assembly quality and performance.
• Follow written and verbal directions precisely to meet production and quality standards.
• Perform simple math, such as basic addition and subtraction, to interpret dimensions and measurements during assembly.
• Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work area in accordance with workplace standards.
• Work effectively both as part of a team and independently to meet production schedules and goals.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding progress, issues, and quality concerns.

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment or completion of a relevant technical certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Hands-on soldering experience with electronic components and assemblies.
• Proficiency in using hand tools for assembly and mechanical fastening.
• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Capability to perform simple math operations, including basic addition and subtraction, to interpret dimensions and measurements.
• Experience using basic manufacturing equipment, tools, and gauges such as multimeters, torque gauges, and force gauges.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
• Verbal and written communication skills sufficient to read instructions and document work as needed.
• High level of motivation and drive to meet production and quality targets.

• Experience as an assembler in defense manufacturing or aerospace environments.
• Eligibility to obtain any required export authorization, in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, reliable assemblies.
• Comfort working with epoxies and other chemicals in a controlled manufacturing setting.

This role is based in a manufacturing setting focused on electronic assemblies, where you will regularly use soldering irons, solder pots, hand tools, and basic manufacturing equipment such as multimeters, torque gauges, and force gauges. Work is performed at assembly stations with fixtures and holding devices, handling small components, epoxies, and other chemicals under established safety procedures. The environment emphasizes maintaining a neat, safe, and organized workspace, following clear instructions, and collaborating with a production team to meet schedules and quality standards. Dress typically aligns with standard manufacturing practices, including appropriate work attire and any required personal protective equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wallingford, CT.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Wallingford,CT.
