Facilities Engineer- (Planning/ Scheduler)

Job Overview Caterpillar is seeking a Facility Engineer (Planning/Scheduler) in Sanford, NC to support the planning and scheduling of improvement projects for the Sanford NC Facilities. The role focuses on maintaining and enhancing plant operations through effective maintenance management, CMMS oversight, and collaboration across multiple departments. Responsibilities Monitor radio and CMMS for incoming breakdown and repair requests. Direct and ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on time. Update and maintain the CMMS system, including adding new machines, users, PMs, coordinating training, and other related tasks. Provide monthly CPS data and other metrics generated from the CMMS system to maintenance and team leaders. Act as the machine documentation manager for all current and future machines, maintaining documentation in paper and electronic form. Serve as liaison between facility management, the maintenance group, purchasing, and crib personnel. Manage maintenance spare parts inventory. Communicate with suppliers to obtain maintenance spare parts and follow the procurement process. Work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and plant shutdowns, as needed. Qualifications Knowledge of plant facilities management processes, methodologies, and techniques. Strong technical troubleshooting skills with experience in hardware, software, and operations. Project management experience and the ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects effectively. Effective communication skills with the ability to transmit and receive information clearly. Preferred Experience Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience or related education such as manufacturing engineering, HVAC, or industrial maintenance. Experience with AutoCAD 2D modeling for floor plans. Experience in a mechanical/fabrication-focused environment, understanding manufacturing processes and equipment. Experience in inventory management. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Excel. Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally and independently to move projects forward. Experience creating and implementing standard work. Knowledge of Avetta compliance, NextGen, Guided Buy, and RFI completion. Location & Relocation Primary location: Sanford, NC.
