Sr. Procurement Specialist

The Day-to-Day

Execute sourcing and procurement activities, including RFQs, negotiations, and purchase order management

Collaborate with engineering, program management, planning, manufacturing and finance teams to support program deliverables

Develop and implement commodity and supplier strategies, aligned to business objectives

Monitor and manage supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery metrics

Support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp activities

Conduct market analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and alternative sourcing strategies

Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and contractual requirements

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and supply chain processes

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.

Experience managing suppliers in a low-volume, high-mix environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems

U.S. Citizenship required (government contract support)

Ability to travel up to 10 percent

What Will Help You On The Job

Experience supporting NPI through production (LRIP to full-rate manufacturing)

Background in aerospace, defense, or highly engineered products

Familiarity with FARS/DFARS regulations

Experience with RMAs, supplier quality, and outsourcing/turnkey programs

Knowledge of PLM systems and component-level sourcing

Salary Range

$79,000.00 - $124,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $97,500.00- $146,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
