JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation.Job Summary:The Neurosurgeonprovides comprehensive neurosurgical care for patients requiring diagnosis, treatment, and surgical intervention for disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system. This position involves evaluation and management of trauma patients, performance of complex neurosurgical procedures, participation in teaching and research activities, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatientsettings.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Iscomfortable working in a large public/county facility andLevel-1Trauma Centerenvironment.?Candemonstrateworking knowledge in neurosurgery, and competency in surgical techniques,diagnosisand treatment processes for neurological and neurosurgical conditions.Hasexcellent interpersonal, verbal, and oral communication skills.Is self-directed and takes the initiative to develop andparticipatein community activities and medical outreach.Collaborateswith other neurosurgeons, residents, fellows, APPs, and multidisciplinary teams in overseeing and coordinating the care delivered to all patients in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings tooptimizequality patient care.Reviews patient medical charts toassistwith diagnosis,treatmentand care management.Makesappropriate patientreferralsas necessary.Monitors guidelines for the management of care and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelinesestablishedby JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.Providescareeducation to patients and families.Provides evidence-based and compassionate care to allpatients asassigned to improve patient outcomes and increase patient satisfaction scores.Maintains a collaborative environment with providers, clinical staff, and support staff.Supports academic,educationaland research endeavors.Provides trauma call coverage and emergency neurosurgical services as assigned.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.***Will also accept Board Eligible candidates***Required Qualifications:Education& Training:Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.Completion of anACGME-accreditedresidency in Neurosurgery.Licensure & Certification:Board Certification in Neurosurgeryrequired.Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Texas.Experience:Experience inLevel-1Trauma Center environment preferred.Academic teaching experience preferred.
