Laboratory Technologist Medical Laboratory Technology

Schedule: Evenings with rotating weekends

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Medefis

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related area
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
• Knowledge of the principles and techniques of medical technology
• Skills in verbal and written communication

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests and accurately report results to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
• Conduct phlebotomies, including venipunctures and arterial punctures, while applying age-specific criteria.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, perform quality control, and adhere to established safety practices.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new employees and students.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Compliance / Notes:

• Requires participation in in-service education and adherence to all safety policies and procedures.
