Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract opportunity focuses on teaching within a specialized program dedicated to students requiring tailored support for social-emotional and behavioral needs.

In this setting, you'll deliver purposeful instruction in a self-contained classroom, crafting and adapting IEPs, and facilitating individualized learning and behavioral plans. Your classroom management expertise and experience with students facing emotional and behavioral challenges are central to fostering a positive, supportive environment.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Georgia certification in Special Education General Curriculum (required across all core academic areas: Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies; please provide certifications).
• Proven background in managing challenging classroom behaviors and implementing behavior intervention strategies.
• Strong experience in writing and managing IEPs to ensure compliance and meet student goals.
• Must complete three professional reference checks (one from a recent supervisor).
• Preferred: Experience in GNETS or alternative/therapeutic educational settings.
• CPI, de-escalation, or other behavior management training is an asset.
• Familiarity supporting students with significant emotional or behavioral disorders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver customized instruction and implement IEP accommodations for students in the GNETS program.
• Provide daily behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, administrators, support staff, and families.
• Continuously monitor student progress and thorough documentation.
• Create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom community.
