Field Service Engineer 2 - Colorado

Field Service Engineer 2 at Illumina provides onsite technical support for genomic sequencing instruments across Colorado and Wyoming. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware while partnering with customers, sales, and internal teams to ensure instrument uptime and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, repair, and maintain instrument systems in defined territory
• Provide onsite technical assistance to customers and internal field teams
• Coordinate and prioritize service requests to determine optimal intervention methods
• Manage service parts inventory and maintain current training and service documentation
• Build relationships with customers and collaborate with sales, marketing, and support teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field
• Minimum 2 years field service experience with instruments or equipment
• Proficiency in optical alignments, robotics, electrical/electronics, and mechanical systems
• Strong problem-solving and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 50% within Colorado and Wyoming
• Knowledge of genomics, sequencing applications, and general lab safety practices

Compensation: $74,900 - $112,300 base
