MRI Technologist

Per Diem MRI TechnologistRebound is hiring for a per diem MRI Technologist. The MRI Technologist performs routine MRI procedures utilizing independent judgment in regard to proper equipment and computer usage, patient positioning, and patient needs to meet Imaging Services Standards. The individual performs imaging procedures, applies principles of magnetic resonance imaging, evaluates images for technical quality; and exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures.Responsibilities:Support an environment that reinforces Rebound's mission and Core Values of Superior Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Innovation, Quality, and Recognition.Interpret the MRI order, perform examinations according to established protocols, and provide all patient services needed to perform the exam.Identify, interview, screen, answer patient questions, and explain the procedure to the patient prior to initiation of examination.Research implants for safety and approval of scanningPrepare contrast media when neededUse EMR to properly document actions taken during procedure. Follow all appropriate processes.Send exam to Radia and include pertinent prior study.Continually evaluate equipment to ensure proper and safe operation of the equipment. Report any discrepancies in the operation to the Supervisor.Follow established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, employee and patient safety, environmental, infection control.Assist with maintenance and care of departmental facilities, equipment, and supplies.Regularly provide basic nursing functions in regard to patient care.Responsible for monitoring patient safety and should be prepared to perform emergency procedures when needed.Maintain knowledge and skill consistent within the scope of practice and current with developing medical technology.Work at different Rebound locations as needed and scheduled by supervisor.Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or manager, both technical and non-technical.Qualifications:High School or equivalent required.AA or AAS Field of study: Radiologic Technology Sciences.Must be a graduate of a formal program of study accredited by the committee on allied health education and accreditation of the AMA, or completion of didactic education and clinical experience acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).WA state license and MR ARRT registration is required to work on WA State MRI scanner. An Oregon State MR license is required for working in Oregon.Current BLS certification required.Minimum of two years working as a radiologic technologist prior to learning MRI is preferred.Knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology, and human cross sectional anatomy is necessary.Knowledge of computer-based programs as they relate to MR applications.Knowledge of safety requirements to provide instructions and to recognize and correct hazardous conditions.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.Skill in identifying and resolving problems.Ability to collect and analyze statistics and other data.Physical Requirements:Must be implant safe to enter MRI magnet room.Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.Must be able to view computer screens for prolonged periods of time and utilize keyboards to perform technical functionsStanding, walking, pulling, bending, reaching, grasping, and lifting patient loads up to and sometimes exceeding 300 lbs.Must be able to travel to different Rebound locations as needed and scheduled by supervisor.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires ability to handle multiple demands at times.Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.We Are Proud To Offer:401(K) Retirement Plan, including discretionary profit sharing and Cash Balance PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramFree ParkingPaid Time Off accrued at up to 24 days in your first year based on FTEThis is a great opportunity to work in a quality organization with Top Doctors in the Northwest.
