About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30); Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Neuro Intensive Care Unit License: Required DC RN License; Pending DC license accepted but must have license in hand prior to start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; BSN and CCRN preferred Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Previous charge experience is preferred. Description: The position requires expertise in Neuro Intensive Care. Candidates will care for patients with conditions such as brain tumors, ischemic strokes, and neurodegenerative diseases. Required skills include ventilator management, administration of emergency medications, and care for critically ill patients. Charting will be done using Cerner. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:2. Floating within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels is required. Scrubs must be solid color without hospital logos. Weekend coverage is required with a commitment to every other weekend. Interdisciplinary support will include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. This position may involve managing complex care protocols and specialized equipment.
