Behavioral Health Therapist Associate

UPMC Western Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist Associate to support our Child & Adolescent Acute Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Pediatric OCD Clinic. In this role, the Behavioral Health Therapist Associate serves as a key point of entry into care, providing clinical intake, assessment, referral coordination, and patient engagement services for children, adolescents, and their families. The position collaborates closely with referral sources, community partners, and the interdisciplinary treatment team to facilitate timely access to appropriate behavioral health services, ensure seamless continuity of care, and support successful engagement and transition throughout the treatment process. The Behavioral Health Therapist Associate will travel between two different locations – Pine Center and our South Side location one day per week. This position works daylight hours Monday through Friday. Sign-On Bonuses up to $7,000! Responsibilities Work with MHP/Supervisor to define role, interventions, and population complexity. Connect with potential clients and address engagement barriers. Gather necessary information for continuity of care. Conduct structured assessments and document findings under supervision. Adapt treatment models for patient care. Complete screenings and data collection to inform treatment planning. Maintain accurate and complete case records. Develop provisional diagnoses using DSM under supervision. Promote self-management of illness. Collaborate with treatment team and attend meetings. Collaborate on developing and updating treatment plans. Complete clinical documentation promptly and ensure service authorization. Provide individual and group therapy, engage families, and educate on recovery. Review cases with supervisor and clinical team. Coordinate with community supports and treatment team for continuity of care. Refer patients to appropriate services and programs. Participate in program improvement activities for quality assurance. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. Completion of a human services–related internship/practicum or at least one year of relevant human services experience. Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process preferred. Experience working with adolescents and young adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and suicidality. Interest or previous experience working within a treatment team approach. EPIC trained preferred, not required. Strong organizational skills. ATTENTION: A copy of your bachelor level transcripts must be attached for consideration.
