Substitute SecretaryByron Public Schools is seeking reliable, organized, and professional individuals to serve as Substitute Secretaries. Substitute Secretaries provide temporary clerical and administrative support in school offices and district departments when regular staff members are absent.Essential Responsibilities:Greet students, staff, parents, and visitors in a professional and courteous mannerAnswer and direct phone calls; take messages as neededPerform general clerical duties including filing, copying, scanning, and data entryMaintain confidentiality of student and personnel informationAssist with attendance records and student documentationSupport building administrators and office staff with daily tasksManage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveriesOperate standard office equipmentPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious office or clerical experience preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsProficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email systems)Ability to work independently and adapt to different school environmentsProfessional demeanor and customer service skillsAbility to maintain confidentialityWorking Conditions:Fast-paced school office environmentFrequent interaction with students, staff, and the publicMay require sitting, standing, and light liftingAdditional Requirements:Background check and clearances as required by state lawAbility to accept assignments on short noticeInterested candidates should submit a completed application and resume.
