Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness using the nursing process
• Safely administer medications and manage IV drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, and Heparin, with ability to titrate as needed
• Provide care for a mixed medical/telemetry patient population including cardiac rule-out, CHF exacerbations, pre/post cardiac catheterization patients, and alcohol detox patients
• Serve as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families
• Monitor and manage patients with PICC lines, ports, JP drains, occasional stable chest tubes, and chronic tracheostomies
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and act as a patient safety advocate within the unit

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
• NIH Stroke Certification required
• Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; this position does not accept local candidates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization patient care
• Familiarity with Alaris infusion pumps and EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• CCRN or PCCN certification preferred
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
