Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture.As Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Systems, you will lead the architecture, detailed design, integration, and certification of the low voltage electrical systems that power avionics, flight controls, and auxiliary systems across BETA’s aircraft platforms. This includes both industry-standard 28V power distribution and multi-kW high voltage to low voltage power conversion.How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:Lead the design, integration, and certification of low voltage electrical systemsDevelop electrical architecture, detailed component electrical and mechanical design, load analyses, and circuit protection schemesOwn electrical system design releases in CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCEManage suppliers for key low voltage components and drive qualification activitiesDrive ARP4754A development processes and certification activitiesLead requirements verification activities in coordination with adjacent systems and test teamsSupport system verification, aircraft integration, and flight test activitiesPartner with Systems Engineering to deliver certification artifacts and documentationCollaborate with Avionics, Flight Controls, High Voltage, and Manufacturing teamsManage a small engineering team with direct reportsMinimum Qualifications:7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for aircraft2+ years of engineering leadership experienceDemonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering deliverablesStrong understanding of 28 VDC power distribution, DC/DC converters, circuit protection, and battery systemsWorking knowledge of ARP4754A development process, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS, or similar)Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsAbove and Beyond Qualifications:5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for aircraftDemonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage engineering deliverablesStrong understanding of 28 VDC power distribution, DC/DC converters, circuit protection, and battery systemsWorking knowledge of ARP4754A development process, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160Experience with requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS, or similar)Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Work location is on-site in South Burlington, VermontThis position will include occasional work around aircraft and the production line to support integration, troubleshooting, testing, and design validation.Build electric airplanes with us!BETA offers a competitive Total Compensation package designed to support you now and as you grow with us.
