Sterile Processing TechnicianThe Sterile Processing Technician cleans, prepares, sterilizes and stores instruments. This position primarily works in decontam and will rarely assemble trays. The technician also prepares case carts for the operating room. The sterile processing unit serves surgical operating rooms, labor and delivery operating rooms, a cath lab, and various clinics. The unit works with a multitude of vendors for tray instruments. This is a level II trauma center. The position requires a high school diploma or GED preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols are crucial in this role.A minimum of 5 years previous sterile processing experience is required. Certification required at hire (CRCST or CSPDT) and maintained. Certifications: Must be certified (IASCHM, CBSPD, HSPA).
