About the Role
The Company is in search of a General Counsel to provide strategic legal leadership with a focus on contracting and procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the company's extensive and complex contracting portfolio, ensuring that legal processes support effective and timely service delivery. This role demands a leader with deep expertise in public-sector compliance, including FOIL, privacy and data governance, ethics, and administrative law, who can integrate legal strategy with the company's programmatic, operational, and fiscal priorities. The General Counsel will also be tasked with modernizing legal and contracting processes, managing a high-performing legal team, and serving as a primary liaison to various oversight entities. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company must be admitted to the New York State Bar and have a minimum of four years' of relevant legal experience, with at least 18 months' in a supervisory capacity. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in legal and operational leadership, particularly in the areas of contracting and procurement. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, adept at translating legal requirements into actionable approaches that advance the company's goals.
