Associate General Counsel

GlossGenius is seeking a Head of Legal to lead and scale our legal function as we expand our AI-native platform and business areas. This high-ownership, high-visibility role will partner directly with leadership to enable business growth through thoughtful risk management and judgment, with broad scope across commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, and regulatory matters.
Responsibilities
- Own the full legal function, covering commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment, data privacy, and regulatory compliance
- Serve as the primary legal partner to the CEO, CBO, and executive team, proactively advising on strategic initiatives, partnerships, intellectual property, trademark protection, and day-to-day business decisions
- Draft, negotiate, and close a wide range of agreements including enterprise contracts, vendor deals, partnership agreements, and financing-related documents
- Build scalable legal infrastructure: contract templates, playbooks, approval workflows, and internal policies to support business speed and confidence
- Advise on employment and people matters as the company and workforce complexity grow
- Manage outside counsel strategically to ensure efficient spend and sharp outcomes
- Shape our approach to legal and regulatory considerations surrounding AI products and data
- Lead the transformation of legal operations by identifying opportunities for AI systems and tools to eliminate low-leverage work, accelerate contract review and drafting, and increase efficiency at scale
Qualifications
- Have a JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership (NY preferred)
- Bring 10+ years of legal experience, including time at a top-tier law firm and in-house at a high-growth tech company
- Possess broad generalist experience across commercial, corporate, employment, privacy, and regulatory matters
- Demonstrate strong commercial instincts and provide clear, decisive guidance to the business
- Have deep familiarity with the evolving legal landscape around AI, including IP, data licensing, model usage, and regulatory considerations
- Are already using AI tools across your workflow and can leverage them to transform legal team operations
- Exhibit a low ego, high ownership mentality and are comfortable being hands-on as the most senior legal voice
Total Compensation
The base salary for this role is between $225,000 and $285,000 plus equity and benefits. The compensation package is dependent on skills, experience, and education.
