Associate General Counsel – Regulatory | New York, NY | Hybrid An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading U.S. property & casualty insurer as an Associate General Counsel , supporting the business on a broad range of insurance regulatory and corporate legal matters. This is a highly visible role within the Legal team, partnering with senior business leaders to provide strategic legal advice across a complex, multi-state regulatory environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the business navigate evolving insurance regulations while supporting growth initiatives and maintaining the highest standards of governance and compliance. Key responsibilities include: Advising on U.S. insurance regulatory matters across multiple jurisdictions Interpreting and applying state insurance laws, regulations and regulatory guidance Supporting interactions with state insurance departments and other regulatory authorities Providing legal advice on product development, distribution, licensing and market conduct issues Advising on corporate governance, regulatory filings and enterprise-wide initiatives Partnering with Compliance, Risk, Government Affairs and business leaders on regulatory developments Supporting M&A activity, strategic transactions and corporate projects from a regulatory perspective, where required Managing external counsel and coordinating legal advice across multiple jurisdictions Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and advising stakeholders on business impact Delivering practical, commercial legal guidance that enables the business to achieve its strategic objectives while effectively managing regulatory risk We're looking for candidates with: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (New York preferred) Significant post-qualification experience within an insurance company, law firm or insurance regulator Strong knowledge of U.S. property & casualty insurance regulation and the state-based regulatory framework Experience advising on licensing, market conduct, producer regulation, product filings and insurance regulatory compliance Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills The ability to balance commercial objectives with sound legal and regulatory judgment This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected insurer with a strong reputation in the U.S. market, offering exposure to complex regulatory work, close collaboration with senior leadership, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic legal team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
