Investment Associate – Quantitative Research

Position Overview

We are seeking an Investment Associate to join an investment team focused on quantitative research, financial markets, and data-driven analysis. This opportunity is well suited for an early-career professional interested in developing deep expertise in financial and economic data, supporting investment decision-making, and producing research that informs portfolio strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of the team's quantitative research priorities and build subject-matter expertise across relevant financial and economic topics.
• Partner with senior investment professionals to define research questions, develop conceptual and technical approaches, identify appropriate data sources, and produce research outputs.
• Conduct quantitative analysis and develop research materials such as dashboards, analytical tools, reports, and written research.
• Document research methodologies, assumptions, data sources, and analytical processes.
• Take ownership of existing research and continuously improve its content, functionality, presentation, and usability.
• Develop and improve processes for maintaining recurring research and analytical outputs, including automation and systematization where appropriate.
• Identify opportunities to connect different research initiatives and datasets to generate additional insights.
• Help standardize quantitative research processes and contribute to the development and maintenance of research databases, including metadata and data-management processes.
• Work with technology and data teams as needed to improve research infrastructure and optimize the sourcing and use of financial and economic data.
• Potentially support investment professionals with trade implementation and monitoring to help evaluate and validate investment strategies and hypotheses.

Practical application and the ability to translate analysis into actionable conclusions are particularly important. Prior exposure to financial markets, economics, or macroeconomic data is helpful but not required.

Ideal Qualifications

• 0–2.5 years of professional experience preferred, but not required.
• Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record required.
• Coursework in finance, economics, financial engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative discipline highly desirable.
• Strong programming skills in a language such as Python or C++.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA.
• Experience with MATLAB, R, Tableau, or other data-analysis and visualization tools is helpful.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg or comparable financial-market data platforms.
• Exposure to institutional economic and financial data sources is beneficial.
