Custodian IThe Custodian I performs general cleaning tasks within University buildings.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs cleaning functions including dust, mop, wet mop, vacuum, gathers and disposes trash, washes walls, vents, windows, fixtures, etc.Cleans restrooms using germicide solution for control of bacteria and odors, polishes fixtures, replaces disposables such as toilet tissues, paper towels and fills soap dispensersRepresent department and the University favorably and in accordance with established Core Values and expectationsPerform other duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the organizationQualifications:Knowledge typically obtained through a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and understanding information necessary to perform the essential functions of the positionCleaning/custodial experience preferredMust have manual ability to perform general cleaning, which may include moving furnitureRequires frequent bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.Equal Opportunity EmployerKCU is committed to promoting an equal employment opportunity workplace.
