PGS Worldwide is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk in Chula Vista, CA for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will manage the flow of materials into and out of the facility by receiving shipments, verifying materials, preparing outgoing shipments, updating material order records, supporting government property tracking, and maintaining warehouse organization. This role requires strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, attention to detail, customer focus, and the ability to learn new processes quickly.

Required Skills

• Experience with shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, material handling, cycle counts, government property management, supplier records, purchase orders, packing slips, shipping labels, bills of lading, forklifts, pallet jacks, and inventory tracking.

What You'll Do

• Receive incoming shipments and unload deliveries from trucks.
• Verify received materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Inspect goods for damage and report discrepancies.
• Sort and label received items.
• Update material order sheets with receipt status, pricing, and supplier information.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging items and printing shipping labels.
• Weigh and measure packages to determine shipping costs.
• Generate shipping labels and complete shipping paperwork.
• Load packages onto delivery trucks.
• Track shipment status and help resolve shipping issues.
• Maintain accurate government property records.
• Conduct monthly government property walkthroughs to verify equipment location accuracy.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
• Maintain supplier records and files.
• Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Standard schedule.
• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Overtime expected as needed.
• Tentative shift end time: 2:30 PM.

Pay

• $23.08/hour
