Work Environment

The Surgical Center at Northern Care Hospital is a bustling environment equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities. The onsite, collaborative atmosphere allows for seamless interaction among various specialists, enhancing the overall patient experience. Working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, our Physician Assistant will enjoy a predictable schedule while also being at the heart of patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, including comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations to address surgical needs.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic surgical conditions, ensuring timely interventions and appropriate treatment.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans for patients post-surgery, taking into account their medical histories and specific needs.
• Assist in various surgical procedures, including minor surgeries and interventional diagnostics, always prioritizing patient safety and care.
• Provide pre-operative education and counseling to patients, alleviating concerns and fostering informed decisions regarding their treatment.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR) to document patient care, surgical procedures, and follow-up plans.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to ensure coordinated patient care and optimal outcomes.
• Stay updated on current best practices, emerging technologies, and evidence-based guidelines in surgical practices.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited institution is required.

• Active DEA registration and prescriptive authority are mandatory.
• Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records systems to ensure seamless patient data management.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably within surgical, primary care, or internal medicine settings.

• Experience working in a surgical center or closely related clinical environment is highly desirable.
