This unit focuses on the admission of general medical patients and surgical patients awaiting surgery. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. This is a rapid admission unit, therefore the patient load will turn over faster than a typical medical/surgical unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1 for medical/surgical registered nurses.
