Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit within a Level I Trauma Center. Respond to urgent patient needs, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients requiring stepdown or intermediate care.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess clinical conditions continuously.
• Document patient progress and care plans accurately in electronic health records.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate interventions.
• Adhere strictly to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control measures.
• Float or cover other units as needed within a 20-mile radius, ensuring compliance with scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current, active RN license in the state or a valid compact license.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent experience in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown units.
• Demonstrate experience in a Level I Trauma Center setting.
• Be proficient in Cerner or similar EHR systems.
• Have current BLS certification; other certifications preferred.
