Our team supports customers throughout the manufacturing industry with products designed and manufactured in Southern California.Position Summary5th Axis is seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support the accurate and timely movement of materials and products through our manufacturing operations.The ideal candidate has hands-on shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or similar environment and understands the importance of accurate documentation, material flow, and on-time shipments in supporting production and customer requirements.We are looking for candidates who can work independently, maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot shipping and receiving issues, and coordinate effectively with other departments. Candidates with experience coordinating workflow, training others, resolving escalated issues, or providing day-to-day team guidance are strongly encouraged to apply.What You'll DoReceive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and system records.Package, label, and prepare outgoing materials and products for shipment.Process inbound and outbound shipments accurately and on time.Count, weigh, and measure parts and materials to verify shipment accuracy.Prepare and complete shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and related records.Perform transactions within ERP and shipping systems to maintain accurate material and shipment records.Load and unload shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve or escalate discrepancies involving materials, documentation, delays, damages, or shipment requirements.Coordinate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, and other departments to support material flow and shipping priorities.Monitor shipment status and respond to material and shipping inquiries.Help coordinate and prioritize daily shipping and receiving activities based on production schedules and customer requirements.Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and tracking records.Support training and day-to-day guidance of Shipping & Receiving team members as needed.Assist with identifying opportunities to improve shipping and receiving processes, organization, and workflow.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area.Follow established safety, quality, and shipping procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForPrevious shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or similar environment.Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, documentation, and material handling.Experience processing inbound and outbound shipments.Experience preparing bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and related documentation.Experience using ERP, inventory, warehouse, or shipping systems.Ability to identify and troubleshoot shipping, receiving, and documentation discrepancies.Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to prioritize work and respond to changing needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with Production, Planning, Warehouse, and other departments.Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Experience training employees, coordinating workflow, or providing day-to-day team guidance is a plus.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Previous shipping and receiving, warehouse, material handling, or related experience required.Manufacturing or industrial experience strongly preferred.Forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification.Candidates with progressively responsible shipping and receiving experience are encouraged to apply.What We OfferEmployee-only base medical coverage at no costCompany-paid life and disability insurance401(k) with company match up to 5%Paid time off and holidaysPerformance bonus opportunitiesTraining and advancement opportunitiesA non-corporate manufacturing environmentCompany and team eventsWhy 5th Axis?At 5th Axis, Shipping & Receiving plays an important role in keeping materials moving, supporting production, and ensuring our products reach customers accurately and on time.We're looking for someone who takes ownership, pays attention to the details, works well across departments, and helps keep the operation moving.
