Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) - PCUWe are seeking experienced Acute Care Registered Nurses to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role is critical in providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac conditions and those requiring stepdown therapies.Position InformationDepartment: Medical Surgical TelemetryNumber of Openings: 3Shift: 12-hour shiftsWeekend Requirements: Every other weekendWeekly Guaranteed Hours: 36Float Requirements: Yes, potential to float to other units if necessaryUnit InformationNumber of Beds: 36Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 for cardiac patients, 1:3-4 for PCU/stepdown patientsEquipment: Telemetry monitoringEHR: CernerPatient Population: Cardiac patients, trauma cases, and stepdown careRequired QualificationsCertifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH requiredExperience: Minimum of 1 year in a PCU or stepdown unitSkills: Experience managing cardiac patient populationsComfort with chest tubes and cardiac monitoringKnowledge of cardiac drips and stepdown care protocolsPreferred QualificationsExperience in low-acuity ICU settingsAdditional certifications related to cardiac careCommon Diagnoses and TreatmentsChest painVATS (Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery)Stroke/TIA managementPre and post-operative care for open-heart surgeryPacemaker insertion and managementHeart blocks and congestive heart failure (CHF)Work EnvironmentThis role requires strong teamwork and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
