Office Engineer (Hudson Valley / Catskills) Location: Mountainville, NY Remote Status: On‑Site Overview Tectonic is seeking a full‑time Office Engineer for upcoming projects in the Hudson Valley and Catskill areas, including Rockland, Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam, Orange, Ulster, Columbia, Sullivan and Delaware Counties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions of the Office Engineer position include the review of inspector's daily reports for accuracy, the preparation and maintenance of monthly estimate and material certification books using CEES or other applicable software, the preparation of change orders as needed, monitoring of the budget and schedule, submittal tracking, maintenance of project files and documentation, and the preparation of meeting minutes and job‑related correspondence. The Office Engineer will work under the Resident Engineer's guidance and ensure successful execution, completion, and close‑out of the project, as well as perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a HS Diploma/Equivalent, and must possess and maintain at least one of the following: Valid NICET Level III or IV Certification; Valid Professional Engineering License; BS Degree in Civil Engineering or an acceptable field; Any other suitable combination of education, training, or experience will be considered; A minimum of 3 years of related experience; NYSDOT experience required; Ability to review Inspector's Daily Reports for accuracy of various work elements on projects involving highways and bridges; Familiarity with the Manual for Uniform Recordkeeping (MURK) and Site Manager, Computerized Engineers Estimate System (CEES and APPIA), or APPIA; NYSDOT recordkeeping experience preferred; Excellent organization, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi‑task; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn project specific software as needed; Requires a valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to and within project sites as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Assume a stationary position; Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job; Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems; Occasionally move around on the job‑site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time; Lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections occasionally as needed; Good visual skills, including focused depth perception for performing inspections, and Occasional daily operation of a motor‑vehicle or use of public transportation, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time. Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines.
