In the role of Resident Engineer, we'll count on you to:Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documentsMaintain accurate daily records of the contractor's daily activities and the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials usedReview construction materials for Contract complianceTrack quantities and develop pay estimates for acceptanceAttend and/or chair construction progress meetingsConduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing of completed equipment and systemsIdentify nonconforming work, develop project punchlists and maintain until correctedDevelop record documentation for engineer review/acceptanceAssist with project audit/closeoutWork under general supervision of a Project ManagerSupervise and direct the activities of junior Resident Project Representatives and Construction Inspectors, testing services and subconsultantsPreferred Qualifications:Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certificationAbility to interpret construction schedulesAbility to problem solve and provide possible solutions to the engineerNYSDOT or NYSTA experienceRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or combination of education and relevant experienceA minimum of 5 years progressive construction experience on multidisciplinary projectsFundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing constructionAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documentsAbility to work in a team environmentComputer literate, experience with Microsoft Office, Primavera, or related construction packagesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustHDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
