A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician to serve as Site Medical Director for a high-volume Emergency Department in New York's Hudson Valley.

This is an outstanding physician leadership opportunity for an Emergency Medicine physician who wants to make a meaningful impact on ED operations, clinical quality, provider development, and departmental strategy while maintaining a limited clinical presence. With a strengthened physician and APP staffing model, the Medical Director will have significantly reduced clinical requirements, allowing substantial time to focus on leadership, process improvement, metrics, and clinical excellence.

The Emergency Department is also entering an exciting period of growth, including plans for a new-build Emergency Department and the recent recruitment of 7 new full-time Emergency Medicine physicians.

Emergency Department Profile

The Site Medical Director will lead a busy, high-acuity Emergency Department supported by a growing team of Emergency Medicine physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.

• 55,000 annual patient visits
• Approximately 15–20% pediatric volume
• Level III Trauma Center
• 23 Emergency Department beds
• 8 Fast Track beds
• 53 hours of daily physician coverage
• 37 hours of daily APP coverage
• EPIC EMR

Provider Team

• 13 full-time physicians
• 9 full-time Advanced Practice Providers
• 7 additional full-time physicians recently signed and hired
• Strong mix of physician talent, including Emergency Medicine physicians serving in Ultrasound Education roles

The department's enhanced staffing model is designed to reduce physician productivity from approximately 2.3 patients per hour toward 2.0 patients per hour , supporting improved patient care, clinical quality, and physician sustainability.

Clinical Compensation
