Empower Voices and Transform Lives in Beautiful Virginia – Join Our Journey as a Speech Language Therapist
Imagine a career where each word spoken is a new opportunity. As a Speech Language Therapist in the vibrant city of Richmond, Virginia, you will not only address communication and swallowing disorders but will also be a catalyst for hope, confidence, and human connections. From the laughter of children discovering their voices to the inspiring resilience of older adults reclaiming their speech, your impact will resonate across generations.
This position offers a distinctive chance to cater to a diverse clientele in a harmonious environment that seamlessly integrates outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient support. Whether your passion lies in the playful language development of children, navigating the complex challenges faced by adults with neurogenic disorders, or enhancing the cognitive-linguistic skills of seniors, you'll find a rewarding blend of fulfillment and flexibility here.
Conduct thorough assessments across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing both standardized tests and observational evaluation methods.
Craft individualized treatment plans designed to meet both immediate rehabilitative goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
Deliver dedicated speech therapy sessions that encompass aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive strategies for comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients and their families to facilitate ongoing progress beyond the clinical environment.
Provide occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy, ensuring a consistent and compassionate pathway throughout the rehabilitation experience.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation that meets all necessary regulatory requirements.
Remain informed about the latest advancements in the field through continued education and peer networking.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting.
Expertise in evidence-based practices for a varied patient demographic, with particular awareness of both developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
Strong interpersonal communication abilities that foster rapport with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Skillfulness in adapting therapy techniques to cater to different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Proficient clinical judgment and adept problem-solving skills.
Comfort with technology, including electronic medical records and compliance with documentation standards.
Competitive salary reflective of experience.
Flexible scheduling options that promote a healthy work-life balance and varied patient caseloads.
Opportunities to specialize in areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday remuneration.
Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Funding for continuing education and support for professional growth.
A collaborative and team-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient care and ongoing development.
A Career of Impact and Connection Awaits You
In this role, your responsibilities will extend beyond providing therapeutic interventions; you'll be woven into a community effort to enhance communication, promote understanding, and infuse joy into the healing process. You will join a team of clinicians who share genuine camaraderie, fostering an atmosphere of unity over rivalry. Every individual you work with has a narrative of their own, and we're excited for you to help them articulate it.
