Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with active licensure, ARRT certification, and a minimum of 1 year of experience for a Magnet‑designated Level 1 Trauma Center’s Radiation Oncology department in the South Chicago area. Requirements Active Illinois Radiation Therapist license required if applicable Current ARRT and BLS certifications required IDNS (Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety) / IEMA certification required Minimum of 12 months of experience in Radiation Therapy, with most recent experience within the last year Experience with TrueBeam linear accelerator required Epic EMR experience required Ability to room patients and set up treatment positions independently At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year Middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Responsibilities Work in a Radiation Oncology department at a 749‑bed, Magnet‑designated Level 1 Trauma Center located in the South Chicago area Patient population is primarily oncology, with 95% outpatient volume and some inpatient/emergency appointments Average caseload of approximately 55 outpatient treatments, 10 consults, and 15 follow‑ups per week 20 patients per machine per day with a 1:1 therapist‑to‑patient ratio Treatment performed using TrueBeam linear accelerator Charting systems include Epic, Mosaic, Alaris, and Pyxis Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM day shift; no weekend rotation No floating, on‑call, or holiday requirements — facility is closed on holidays Time off during the week of Christmas requires Team Lead approval Deliver radiation therapy treatments using the TrueBeam system and support patient setup in the treatment room Team includes 12 therapists, 4 RNs, and 2–3 physicians on unit 1‑day facility/unit orientation (NEO) Work environment is fast‑paced, flexible, and team‑oriented Natural nails only during direct patient contact — tips must be kept under 1/4 inch; no artificial nails or nail extenders Any scrub color is acceptable Free parking available in designated areas First‑time travelers are accepted for this position Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius rule applies Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs #J-18808-Ljbffr Newsandtribune
