About the Role

The Company is seeking a Head of E&S Property Underwriting, a senior leadership role dedicated to the strategy, profitability, and management of the E&S Property Brokerage. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 10 underwriters, setting the underwriting vision, and driving profitable growth. This role requires a hands-on approach to complex accounts, pricing discipline, and broker relationships. The Head of E&S Property Underwriting will also be instrumental in underwriting leadership and strategy, portfolio management, and team development, with a focus on maintaining a disciplined approach to accumulation management and driving the use of underwriting indications to support broker partners. Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' E&S or specialty property underwriting experience, with a significant background in a wholesale/non-admitted environment. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in managing a profitable property book across various commercial classes, deep technical knowledge of commercial property underwriting, and experience in leading and developing underwriting teams. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, a data-driven decision-maker, and possess a high accountability orientation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including claims, actuarial, legal, and product, is essential to ensure the book is supported end-to-end and to provide market and competitive intelligence for product development and pricing strategy.
