Payroll Administrator

Gradient Financial Group is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. This role is dedicated exclusively to end-to-end payroll processing for Gradient Financial Group and its affiliated entities.

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. This position will work closely with Accounting, HR, external partners and payroll system partners to ensure payroll information, benefit deductions, and employee changes are processed correctly and efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Process accurate and timely payroll for 500+ employees across multiple states for Gradient Financial Group and its affiliated entities
• Manage the payroll process from start to finish, including gathering, reviewing, validating, processing, and finalizing payroll information.
• Review employee timecards, attendance records, and other payroll inputs for accuracy and completeness.
• Verify and process payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, variable compensation and other approved employee updates.
• Calculate and process regular wages, overtime, variable compensation and other applicable compensation.
• Review payroll registers and reports prior to finalizing payroll to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors.
• Ensure accurate processing of payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, benefits-related deductions, and other payroll withholdings.
• Coordinate with HR and other internal stakeholders to resolve payroll questions and obtain necessary information.
• Partner closely with HR to ensure employee benefit elections and changes are accurately reflected in payroll.
• Stay informed about applicable federal, state, and local payroll requirements.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, year-end payroll processing, W-2 preparation, and other required payroll reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

What You Bring
Required

• 5+ years of experience processing payroll in a professional environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing procedures, wage calculations, deductions, and payroll compliance requirements.
• Experience reviewing timecards and verifying payroll information.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to consistently meet strict payroll deadlines.
• Ability to handle confidential employee compensation and benefit information with discretion.
• Experience processing payroll for multiple entities or companies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with HR, managers, and employees, and external partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll/HRIS systems.
• Ability to work independently while following established processes and procedures.
• Experience with payroll tax filings, year-end processing, and W-2 preparation.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Preferred

• Familiarity with Paycor or comparable payroll and HRIS platforms.
• Experience processing payroll in a financial services or multi-entity organization.
