The Department of Public Health at San Francisco State University invites applicants for a Public Health Program Coordinator who will oversee accreditation, assessment, and program review activities for both undergraduate and graduate public health programs. Department Mission The Department of Public Health promotes health and health equity at the individual, community, and structural levels through transformative education, research, scholarship, and service. Faculty values diversity, engages communities, and is grounded in cultural humility. Position Summary Oversight of accreditation, assessment, and program review for both the B.S. and M.P.H. programs. Coordination of student recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, and student support services. Development and implementation of program initiatives in collaboration with faculty, staff, and university partners. Liaison to the Division of Undergraduate Education, Academic Planning, Graduate Studies, and other campus units. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Public Health or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant administrative experience. Minimum of one year of program coordination or relevant administrative experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently, investigate and solve problems, and manage multiple priorities. Strong analytic and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to identify issues proactively and develop solutions. Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data. Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners. Ability to work in a complex environment with many responsibilities, rules, and procedures. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a collaborative approach to work. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating academic programs in higher education. Experience working with diverse student populations. Knowledge of the department’s academic programs and related policies, procedures, and regulations. Knowledge of accreditation processes and preparation of accreditation reports and documentation. Familiarity with CEPH accreditation standards and procedures. Teaching experience and knowledge of effective pedagogies. Demonstrated ability to maintain a calm, personable demeanor and a good sense of humor in a professional setting. Rank and Salary This is a full‑time administrative position, one year renewable. Salary is $70,000 – $80,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Accreditation and Program Review Responsibilities – 40% Participate in regular faculty meetings and sub‑committees as assigned by the Department Chair. Work with the Department Chair to ensure accreditation and university assessment and program review deadlines are met. Collect and analyze data to complete the annual report due to CEPH every December. Teaching and/or Assignments to Special Projects – 20% Teach one course per semester in one of the academic programs (BS or MPH). When a course cannot be assigned, participate in other special projects such as curriculum planning, data collection/analysis, and relationship building with external partners. Work Location and Hours All work is expected to be performed on campus in California. Occasional telework may be available, but the position is primarily on‑site.
