Maintenance Technician

Position Purpose The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of various pre‑press, sheeting, printing, and finishing manufacturing equipment at an acceptable speed and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety. This is achieved through strong knowledge of electro‑mechanics, PLCs, the ability to troubleshoot various equipment problems, and adherence to all safety requirements and rules. Job Functions Troubleshoot equipment by conferring with operators, listening for unusual sounds, testing, and evaluating operation to diagnose malfunctions. Disassemble machinery to access and remove defective parts, make repairs, and reassemble. Install, repair, replace, adjust, and align components of machinery and equipment. Run test‑runs on repaired machinery to verify adequacy of repairs. Perform root cause failure analyses on equipment failures. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of equipment and machinery. Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear. Complete daily work orders within the specified time frame. Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly, building systems operating efficiently, and the physical condition of the building from deteriorating. Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance functions following checklists. Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage using carts, forklifts, lifts, pallet jacks, etc. Job Specifications Minimum of a high school diploma (trade school degree preferred). Two years of electro‑mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment is required; five years preferred. Monday through Friday 2nd‑shift position (standard schedule 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm). Safe Quality Food Responsibilities For All Employees Follow all plant rules, processes, hygiene, and allergen procedures related to production of safe quality foods. Report to the person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe foods or non‑compliance with SQF related procedures. Participate in SQF root‑cause and corrective actions from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities as required. Follow all procedures related to producing safe quality foods (SQF). Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
