Special Care Nursery Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the Special Care Nursery to provide exceptional care for our patients. This role requires expertise in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery, as well as the capability to support and float to the main NICU for low acuity patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Special Care Nursery.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and communicate changes to the medical team.
• Provide emotional support and education to families of patients.
• Float to the main NICU as necessary to assist in patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Special Care Nursery (Level 2).
• Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii.
• Current certification in AHA BLS and AAP NRP.

Health and Safety Requirements

In compliance with health and safety regulations, the following documentation is required for onboarding:

• Immunization records, including MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza Vaccine.
• TB Test results and completion of an Annual TB Questionnaire.
• Fit Test documentation for appropriate respiratory protection.
• Completion of a drug screening.

Professional Documentation

Candidates must provide the following documentation as part of the onboarding process:

• Two professional references.
• Criminal background check results.
• Verification of education and employment history.
• Driver's License or State ID.
• Completion of required orientation acknowledgments.
• Submission of a professional resume.

Additional Information

This is a rotating shift position requiring a commitment of 36 hours per week, typically scheduled as 3 twelve-hour shifts. We welcome candidates who are passionate about providing high-quality care in a dynamic work environment.
